Choose a Coffee Bean

To choose a coffee bean can directly go to the coffee shop or special gourmet shop where the salesman are knowledgable and will spend time to educate you a different kind of coffee beans.

The tips to buy and choose a coffee bean as follows:
  • Buy only roasted coffee, you can ast to the salesman when the coffee is roasted (many specialty shops will roast coffee daily). If you buy in a supermarket, don't forget to check the date of the coffee was roasted, or at least a production date.
  • Good coffee bean look and smell appetizing.
  • Determine what kind of coffee you like, mild or full bodied, floral tasting, nutty or winy and so on.
  • Learn about coffee from different growing area and which varieties are highly regarded, discover which region produce coffee that matches your tastes. Most coffee is grown in Latin America, Africa and Indonesia.
  • Determine of your roast coffee preference, French roast, Italian roast that shows a darky roasted coffee, although the actual beans aren't specified.
  • Many special coffee shop offer their own custom blends, but there is a standard as well: Mocha-Java for example is a famous blend of coffee from Yemen (Mocha) and Java.
  • Store coffee bean and ground coffee in an aircraft conainer in a cool, dry place, if we don't use coffee bean within a week, or ground coffee with a few days. Keep the coffee in the freezer.
